PRESIDENT'S DAY FLY-IN
President's Day Weekend Fly-in Mid-February
In the Guadalupe Mountains of New Mexico is an informal event typically attended from Friday to Monday. You don't need to be a member, or even a pilot, to come enjoy the backcountry and watch folks fly.
Camping is informal, dispersed roadside camping on Forest Service land, and you need to bring everything including water, toiletries, and trashbags to pack out all the trash you bring in.
This year we are hoping again for some good flying. Contact our club at flysandia.org or the Rio Grande Soaring Association for more info. Hanggliding, Paragliding, mini-wings, and even speed wings are typically present along with a mellow backcountry atmosphere
Check it out!! (there is no invite, or organized effort to this thing, just show up and fly)
